Set up Support

You need workspace-owner access and someone who can edit your website. Choose a test page before making the widget available to all visitors.

  1. Select your workspace and open Settings → Web chat widget.
  2. Add the website’s origin to the allowed origins, including https:// and the hostname. Use the origin, without a page path. Development origins may include a port.
  3. Configure the greeting, appearance, and visitor details you want to collect. Save each section you change.
  4. Copy the installation snippet and give it to your website administrator. Follow the Widget quickstart for installation.
  5. Enable chat availability when your team is ready to receive conversations.
  6. Open the test page as a visitor, send a message, and check that it appears in the Support inbox.

The visitor can open the widget and your team can read and reply to the conversation. Test this basic flow before enabling AI, so you can distinguish widget setup from assistant setup.

Next, set up your AI assistant.

Check that you used the correct workspace’s snippet and that the actual page origin is allowed. When chat availability is off, the widget offers offline contact collection rather than starting a live conversation. See the configuration reference for installation details.
